Jeff Taylor wins Natural State Nationals opener

Driving the Skyway Auto Group No. 5 Modified, “The Animal” Jeff Taylor grabbed his third feature win of 2024 during the second annual Natural State Nationals at Two Dollar Pistol Motor Speedway.

On Friday, 23 IMCA Modified teams descended on the quarter-mile track in Plumerville, Arkansas, for the first night of competition. Taylor finished third in his heat race and started eighth in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win feature. True to his nickname, “The Animal” charged through the field and took over the top spot on lap 15. He led the rest of the way and took the checkered flag 1.328 seconds ahead of Timothy Culp. Third place went to Drake Findley, with Ashton Wilkey and Dallas Everett completing the top five.

Twenty-one IMCA Modifieds were in the pits the next night for another $1,000-to-win program. After finishing fourth in his heat, Taylor started 12th and came home sixth in the main event.
