Taylor is part of inaugural Granite City Open

On Friday and Saturday, Jeff Taylor competed at a track up north for the third weekend in a row. This time, he took on the Modified class in the first edition of the Granite City Open at Sauk Rapids, Minnesota's Granite City Motor Park.

Driving the No. 55 car, Taylor was one of 22 Modified competitors at the 3/8-mile oval when racing in the multi-day program began on Friday. The Locust Grove, Arkansas, native posted finishes of third and sixth in his heat races, positioning him 14th on the grid to start Saturday’s feature.

Taylor climbed as high as ninth in the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event before coming home in the 14th spot.
