Seventh-place finish in Dakota Mod Tour finale in Mandan
The 33rd annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour resumed on Monday evening with a trip to Williston Basin Speedway (Williston, N.D.) for the third round of the tour. (Tyler Hagen Photography)
After charging forward eight spots in his heat race to score an impressive second-place finish, Taylor faded back to a 16th-place outing in the 30-lap feature.
On Tuesday afternoon at Southwest Speedway (Dickinson, N.D.), Jeff followed up a eighth-to-fourth run in his heat with a second-place finish in his B-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 in the 30-lap main event, Taylor passed eight cars to finish 10th.
For the final two rounds of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, Taylor headed to Dacotah Speedway (Mandan, N.D.) on Wednesday to pilot his Industrial Electric No. 5 Modified. With a fourth-place finish in in his consolation event pinning him on the 13th row for the feature, Jeff gained six spots to place 20th.
On Thursday, Jeff secured his spot into the $2,000-to-win finale with a heat race win from the sixth-starting position. Coming two positions shy of Top-5 finish in the 30-lap feature, Taylor recorded a seventh-place outing.
Jeff finished in seventh in the final Dakota Classic Modified Tour point standings.
The following night, Taylor stopped at Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, S.D.) but after coming in second in his heat, a rain shower postponed the remainder of the program.
On Saturday at Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, Wyo.), Jeff led a lap few laps early in the feature before crossing the line in third.
His weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Casper Speedway (Casper, Wyo.) but was a scratch from the feature.
