Duel in the Desert brings Tayor to Las Vegas

Wednesday night saw Jeff Taylor return to action at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Las Vegas, Nev.) for the 23rd annual Duel in the Desert. With the massive Modified field being split in 24 heats, Taylor gained four spots in his heat race to finish second behind Tanner Black. Starting the preliminary feature in 19th, Jeff faded three spots to register a 22nd place outing.

For another round of preliminary features on Thursday, Jeff jumped up two spots in his heat race to place fifth. Transferring into a B-Main for another shot at an A-Main, Taylor logged a 22nd place finish.

On Friday evening, Taylor started the night off with a heat race victory but his win was voided after officials disqualified him for failing to enter the correct pit entrance.

Rolling off ninth in his Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday for one final shot at the $10,000-to-win Duel in the Desert, Jeff was collected in a tangle with another competitor while running in third with a lap remaining that brought a disappointing end to his weekend.
