Runner-up finish in round two of Desert Thunder Nationals at Casa Grande

Jeff Taylor continued on his western swing on Friday afternoon at Central Arizona Speedway (Casa Grande, Az.) for the seventh annual Desert Thunder Nationals. Jumping up one spot in his heat race to pick up the 8-lap victory, Jeff locked into the 11th-starting position for the opening night feature. Making the mistake of choosing the wrong gear before the start of the 25-lapper, Taylor faded back to a 22nd place outing.

On Saturday afternoon, Taylor started the night off with a heat race victory, which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top-5, Jeff marched forward nine spots to place second behind Ricky Thornton Jr. with Tanner Black, Kelsie Foley, and Zachary Madrid rounding out the Top-5. (Vyn Polmanteer photo)

For the finale on Sunday, Jeff suffered a broken transmission in his heat while leading that transferred him into the B-Main. Passing five cars to place second behind Doug Meeks, Taylor earned the 23rd-starting position for the A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Jeff Taylor passed 13 cars in the 20-lapper to register a 10th place finish.
