Pair of Top-5 finishes in Turkey Classic at Cocopah Speedway

For the next stop of his western swing, Jeff Taylor traveled to Cocopah Speedway (Somerton, Az.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Turkey Classic. Drawing 39 IMCA Modifieds, Jeff rallied five spots in his heat to finish third after drawing the 97 pill out of 100. Posting a runner-up finish in his B-Main behind Russell Allen, Taylor locked into the 13th-starting position for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-5, Jeff charged through the field eight spots in the 25-lapper to place fifth behind Chaz Baca, Tanner Black, Lance Mari, and Kollin Hibdon. (Cheryl Sluka Images)

For the $1,500-to-win finale on Saturday night, Taylor secured his spot into the main event with a second place finish in his heat behind Kelsy Hayes. Rolling off sixth, Jeff clawed forward two spots to register a fourth-place finish behind Tanner Black, Darrell Hughes II, and Chaz Baca with Kelsie Foley coming fifth.
