September 21st, 2013 - Jeff Taylor Surges to 3rd Place Finish at Ocean
1While the weekend may not have started on the best note Jeff Taylor rebounded on Saturday night to score a podium finish in the annual Pat Pettit Memorial at Ocean Speedway (Watsonville, California).

Jeff piloted a Fitzgerald Motorsports owned #5 Roddy Ranch/Taylor Chassis in the $15,000-to-win event as action opened on Friday evening with a stout field of 70 entries in the pit area.

After qualifying 39th fastest in time trials Taylor started 6th in his heat race before racing to a 5th place finish, which relegated him to a b-main on Saturday night. After seeing the team work all night to make changes Jeff advanced from his 5th starting spot to win his b-main on Saturday evening, which locked him into the 21st starting spot for the finale.

In the main event Taylor mounted a great charge through the pack reaching as high as the 2nd spot in the closing laps before settling into a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Bobby Hogge IV and Ryan McDaniel.

"I have to thank the Fitzgerald family, the Pettit family, my crew, and all of the awesome fans for their support throughout the weekend," noted Taylor. "Our weekend started pretty rough as I definitely wasn't used to those kind of track conditions, but we rebounded on Saturday night. I really had a blast!"

September 7th, 2013 - Jeff Taylor Has Ups-and-Downs During Super Nationals
1Jeff Taylor traveled to Boone Speedway over the weekend for the 31st Annual Boone Super Nationals as he looked to defend his title in the coveted event.

With over 200 of the top IMCA Open Wheel Modified pilots in the country in action the week-long festivities got off to a slow start on Wednesday night for Taylor, where he was only able to manage a 19th place finish in the final rundown.

On Thursday night he would again struggle in the feature as mechanical woes sidelined him to a 30th place finish. However, he did manage a 5th place finish in the Fast Shafts All Star Invitational behind race winner, Todd Shute, Chris Abelson, Dylan Smith, and William Gould.

Friday night would see an apparent upswing in luck for Taylor as he raced to a 3rd place finish in the feature behind race winner, Chris Mills, and Ryan Watnem to lock into the 15th starting spot for Saturday night's finale. However, as he crossed the finish line he would experience a motor failure.

Taylor initially feared that his weekend might have come to an early end, but luckily he would be able secure another ride for Saturday night's finale. He would race as high as the 7th position before an accident relegated him to a 22nd place finish in the 33 car field.
